Santa Claus and our Make-A-Wish, Greater Bay Area family will serve as the evening’s guests of honor. Carolers, holiday confections and visits with Santa promise to “merry” kids of all ages! The event is complimentary, but we are asking for $10 donation for Hot Cocoa and photos with Santa, with proceeds going to Make-A-Wish. We recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time and arriving early to line up for photos with Santa.

Attendees can also take selfies with Santa Claus and other holiday characters, including Frosty and Rudolph, in front of a festive holiday-themed Winter Wonderland backdrop. A Santa’s Elf Helper will assist guests with taking photos with their cell phones and cameras.

Christmas Tree Lane lights and decorations are displayed (approx.) two weeks during the Christmas Holidays. Christmas Tree Lane's lights will be turned on at 5 PM and turned off at 11 PM nightly from December 14 to December 31, 2024.

Driving: Fulton Street is not a one-way street. You can enter from Embarcadero Road or Seale Avenue. Please use your "parking lights" instead of full headlights and drive slowly and carefully down the street, staying in your vehicle at all times.

Walking: Please keep your mask on when walking and enjoying the decorations on Fulton Street. Keep and eye out for cars when crossing the street as some families will be driving to view the lane.

Christmas in the Park is a community-focused non-profit organization dedicated to the celebration of the holiday season by producing a free Christmas event. Our displays, trees, and entertainment, along with special programs and festivities serve the interests of the community.

This annual holiday tradition takes place in the heart of Downtown San José at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez. For over 44 years, this whimsical walk-thru event has brought people from all over the Bay Area together during the holidays. It is a place of community.

Each year the two-acre park is transformed into a holiday fantasy with over 40 musical and animated exhibits, glittering lights and the 50-foot Community Giving Tree. Some of the original displays housed in one of the largest exhibits, the Lima Train, include a melting snowman, caroling mice and elf woodcrafters. Guests enter a winter wonderland of lights, songs and local entertainment while strolling through an enchanted forest of trees decorated by San José schools, community groups and businesses.

Christmas in the Park is a non-profit organization that is supported through fundraising efforts and is free to the public. Children can have their photograph taken with Santa, watch nightly entertainment and enjoy holiday themed refreshments, all free of charge.

More than 90% of our budget comes from fundraising. We are grateful for the in-kind support from the City of San José.
